Who I Am

Amy J. StrychaszBy day, a stay-at-home mom and wife, by night, a keyboard-plunking wordsmith.  That’s me.  I am a reader, a writer, a social worker, a gardener, a cook, a walker, a nature-lover,  an animal-lover, a tv-watcher, a chocoholic, and a music addict.    A product of the suburbs of Buffalo, NY, I grew up in a close-knit family, smack dab in the middle of three kids–and I do have a touch of middle child syndrome.  I studied English Literature in college, with an emphasis on modern/contemporary British literature and women’s literature.  After college, I asked the proverbial question: what do you do with a BA in English?  After a two-year hiatus from academia–and a two-year stint as a legal assistant–I pursued my Master’s in Social Work.  Despite ten years in this field, I never lost my love of writing.  I’ve written stories since I was in second grade.  Something about putting things down on paper or in print gives me great satisfaction and pleasure.
